My name is Shannon Miller and I’m a licensed mental health counselor and certified addiction professional. I’m licensed in both Florida and Nebraska. I have been a counselor for 17 years.

I understand that searching for a counselor is no easy task. A little bit about me. I grew up living all over the US. By the time I graduated high school, I lived in six different states and attended ten different schools. In total, I’ve lived in eight different states. Because of my life experiences, I’m able to connect to many different cultures and adapt easily to my surroundings. My early life experiences taught me that sometimes change can be difficult and scary but that even in the worst situations, people can and do prevail.

I’ve spent the past eight years working in a family medicine center and I understand the impact that physical health can have on our mental health. I have also worked with individuals who are involved in the legal system, or those who have experienced homelessness. My background includes treating patients with co-morbid medical issues, mental health and substance use. This includes people struggling with chronic pain / medical illness, schizophrenia and other major mental illnesses, substance use / abuse, depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and trauma / PTSD.
